Fax Attack on
Washington!
The Next Generation
June 17, 2010 - It's time to March on D.C. and be heard
once and for all, but we have to work together in order for it to be successful.
Most of us don't have the financial resources to travel to the Lincoln
Memorial, but while we still have electricity and our internet
connections, we can still carry our fight to Washington...with
another, bigger, more massive Fax Attack!
The first attempts to reach congress by fax was very successful
in that, although they didn't vote in our favor (as of yet),
they most definitely heard us...they were said to be complaining!
This, according to their aides when they were called and asked
about them...one had even asked when they planned to stop! He-he!
This concept (the fax attacks) was first initiated by a woman in San Diego
California named Donalee King. You may have heard of her; she has
a popular Facebook page advocating a Tier Five; she also has a radio
blog and she writes for the Examiner (Details in the box near
the bottom of this page).
Now members of Congress want to use all their spare time campaigning
before the November elections...will we allow them this precious
time before we are heard? NOT!
Now that congress has failed to pass the continuation of
unemployment insurance benefits, the original 99ers (many who have
never even received all 99 weeks) are hoping that they now
will have hundreds of thousands more people dedicated to the Tier
Five cause (see the links on the left side of this page).
Even if congress DID pass the much anticipated
legislation today to further funding unemployment benefits for the
long-term unemployed, it would only be for about another 6 months
- until the end of November - but by the end of the year, we will NOT
see 15 million new jobs created for everybody. And it won't be
long before many of you will have spent your savings, pension funds,
401ks, and IRAs (minus tax and penalties). Many of us have
already. And for most of you who barely live from paycheck to
paycheck, it's unconscionable what Congress has done to you. If
you're lucky enough to be 62, 65, or 67 - you can apply for some
relief from Social Security...but Congress wants to raise the age
limit again! (I never in my life would have thought that I'd
wished myself to be older!) Regarding Senator Max
Baucus' comment > > > The 99 weeks was NOT "sufficient" for
millions of Americans who rely on these federally extended
benefits for their family's survival. The last depression lasted
12 years and it took World War II to put America back to work again. And
what are they now telling the long-term unemployed? That we
need not even bother applying! 3 Steps
You Need to Take: Fax/E-Mail, Phone, and Sign the Petition I suggest that with hundreds of thousands losing benefits
every week (including those who never even got a chance to qualify
for the first tier) we ALL need to fax our senators and the President (call
this "phase IV", to include all the new members - referring
to Donalee's original fax campaign.) Simply write your
story, then fax away! Below are 6 free on-line fax services, and
use others also if you have access to an actual fax machine (attach
a resume if you'd like as well - - - numbers below). Sample

(Depending on your plan, this number may be toll-free) Just
ask for your senator's office and leave a brief message with the
senator's aide. Be polite! You get more with honey ;)
STEP THREE - Sign the
Petition for a Tier V!
If the workforce becomes
smaller, but at the same time the unemployment rate remains approximately
the same, how can that be? What does that tell you?
Just out today (6/17/10), the new jobs report says "weekly initial jobless claims"
(defined)
increased by another 12,000 to 472,000 - and "continuing claims" increased by 88,000 to 4,571,000
(does not count federal extended claims, only regular State
claims).
The level of jobs created today stands about 20% below the level in 2002.
Although the government's Bureau
of Labor and Statistics (BLS) repeatedly denies this, after
someone is dropped from the unemployment roll, they are no longer
counted in the unemployment rate. (See http://www.shadowstats.com
) Instead the BLS supposedly conducts a
60,000-household monthly survey "asking" people if
they're still looking for a job...then the BLS writes in their
report that these "ghost people" are answering NO - that
they are openly admitting that they are not looking for
work. 60,000 households surveyed every month:
(let's say 2 people per household) X the last 2 years
during this "recession" (48 months) =
5,760,000 people surveyed. Let just ONE of these people e-mail me
telling me the circumstances of their interview with the BLS and
tell me that they admitted to being a lazy bum.
Do you believe that? The average person (even if
they WEREN'T looking for work) wouldn't openly admit
that to a government employee, if for any other reason, from a
sense shame or out of a sense of pride.
But regardless, the BLS still reports them as
"discouraged workers" and the media reports this version
of events, and then the general public becomes angry and calls us
"lazy"! Members of Congress sees that the jobless are
not getting popular support, so they vote against funding
the unemployment extensions.
AREN'T YOU ANGRY THAT YOU'RE NOT BE FAIRLY COUNTED
BY THE GOVERNMENT, AND ARE BEING MISREPRESENTED MY THE MEDIA?
